Briefings for Not-For-Profit Organisations

[Registrations Past]

In the wake of the Pike River Mine tragedy the NZ Government is implementing major reforms to New Zealand’s health & safety law.

Individuals in governance and management roles in charitable entities need to be aware of the implication and impact these changes will have on managing health and safety in the not-for-profit sector and the risk of personal liability.

In order to prepare organisations for the most significant overhaul of health and safety legislation in over 20 years, Willow Creek are hosting two Gaze Burt briefings specifically designed for those in governance and management roles in the not-for-profit sector.

The briefing will cover the following topics:

  • An overview of the Bill with comparisons to the current regime
  • The development of the PCBU & its impact on not-for-profit organisations
  • New “due diligence” duty for those in governance and management roles
  • The substantial increase in penalties and consequences for breaching particular duties
  • Practical guidance on how the reforms will impact not-for-profit organisations
